Samsung Galaxy S10 and S10+ release date

Samsung’s Galaxy S10 will arrive next year and is likely to be one of the more complicated phone launches the company has undertaken. The rumours so far suggest that along with the usual two phones we may see more models arrive. Along with the Galaxy S10 and S10+ there’s a strong likelihood the company will announce its release version of the new folding phone and perhaps a new device that adds in extra, high-end features like 5G.

That new phone is codenamed Beyond X and while the rumours are considerable it’s not a confirmed product. If it does launch it’s expected to have more cameras and a newer, even more impressive screen.

When will the Samsung Galaxy S10 be announced?

The Galaxy S10 and S10+ will almost certainly see a similar announcement and launch as the S9 and S9+. Samsung usually schedules an “Unpacked” event during the week that Mobile World Congress is being held in Barcelona.

This year that’s February 25-28 but the company could organise its event for Sunday 24 February.

When will the S10 and S10+ be available for pre-order?

Pre-orders for the devices will then open either directly after it’s announced, or within a week or two. The S9 was announced on the February 25 2018 and pre-orders opened on March 1. In most places last year the phone went on sale on March 16.

We would expect an identical pattern this year.

When will the Galaxy Beyond X launch?

The new device, which is likely to be based on the S10 but have 5G support and a larger display will probably not appear until the summer. However Samsung may well announce the phone along with the other devices. Holding back the 5G model makes sense as most countries won’t have 5G networks at the start of 2019.

In the UK EE will be the first to launch the next generation mobile network, but that probably won’t happen until a bit later in the year.

When will the Samsung Galaxy F (or X) be announced

We know the Galaxy Folding phone, (it may be the Galaxy X or F) is coming. Samsung teased the device at its developer conference and is now asking app companies to build new tools and services for the phone. However the folding phone isn’t really designed for the mass market.

Indications are that the new device will be limited in number and expensive to buy.

Samsung often uses these limited run phones to define what the next generation of mainstream handsets will look like.
